The Advanced Spinal Centre, at Mediclinic Kloof is a dedicated spine unit which is comprised of a multi disciplinary team of medical specialists and other healthcare professionals who are focused on the holistic treatment of spine disorders and diseases.
Our team includes an Orthopaedic and spinal surgeon, Physiotherapist, & Biokineticist, with supporting units from radiology, physicians, general practitioners and other hospital departments.
All of the team members’ consulting rooms are in the same ofce space, which means patients get a complete assessment and treatment from the onset and avoids back and forth movement between practitioners.
Each member of the team either has a special interest or has had further training in the management of spine conditions. Our patient-centered approach combined with integrated protocols ensure that each patient is comprehensively assessed and appropriately treated to achieve the best possible clinical outcome.
Our team approach also acts as safeguard against unnecessary surgery being performed. Patients are carefully worked up and prepared in cases where it has been determined that surgery would be the best treatment option. A team based approach is also followed for post-operative care and rehabilitation
